IT in the D is an innovative new IT talent development program sponsored by Compuware Ventures, Quicken Loans, Marketing Associates, Fathead and GalaxE.Solutions. As part of a collaborative project including fourteen team members and four trainers, a website aimed at attracting, training and retaining IT talent in Detroit was assembled. The cheif technology employed was Ruby on Rails. Throughout the project, Agile methodologies were observed. The team did week long sprints, used GitHub for version control and Pivotal Tracker for user story tracking.

Our trainers were Tim Fisher, Chris Hallendy, Catherine Pricer and Jesse Dorsey. In addition, several individuals at Compuware Ventures conceived, designed and created the program including Compuware Ventures CTO Paul Czarnik and J Kyle Duncan, Senior Vice President at Compuware. Several academic leaders including Professor Robert Kakos of Wayne State University were responsible for promoting and recruiting efforts. This project would not have been possible without the dedicated support of countless staff at Compuware Ventures and other financial sponsors. A sincere thank-you to everyone who made this project possible.
