Speakers at the 2018 CNS Annual Meeting

The recipient of an MD from the University of California, San Francisco, neurosurgeon Ali Mesiwala has served as the medical director of Chaparral Medical Group since 2005. Supplementing his experience, Ali Mesiwala, MD, holds membership in the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS).

The 2018 CNS Annual Meeting is scheduled for October 6-10 in Houston, Texas. In addition to a variety of educational and networking opportunities, including case-based discussion sessions, the five-day event will include several prominent speakers from inside and outside of the medical community, including:

1. Smith L. Johnston III - An alumnus of Emory University, Johnston is an Aerospace Medical Association fellow who has spent most of his career working as a flight surgeon at the NASA Johnson Space Center. In addition to providing medical care to active Astronaut Corps members and their families, Johnston has supported more than 25 shuttle missions.

2. Al Unser Jr. - A two-time winner of the Indianapolis 500, Unser has been racing sprint cars since he was 11 years old. He retired from racing in 2004 but remains involved in the industry as a mentor, coach, and adviser. He'll be leading a general scientific session titled "A Conversation with Al Unser Jr.: The Nervous System at 220 MPH!"

3. David Eagleman - An author of New York Times Best Sellers, Eagleman is a Stanford University adjunct professor who serves as head of the Center for Science and Law. He has written more than 100 academic publications on topics such as neurolaw and sensory substitution and is the presenter of the PBS television series, The Brain with David Eagleman.
