(semifinalist in 2018 adobe design excellence award)
{Coming from a Chinese background, the traditional philosophies have always attracted me.

It is said that, in traditional Chinese philosophy, dimensions of being are divided into five elements: wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. Through the endless cycles of creation and destruction, relationship among these five elements mirrors the life and death of every being within the cosmos.⠀

I named this piece with a Chinese comma, because nature cycles itself, and the concept is inspired by the Chinese five elements.
Currently, the series is being shown at the New Wight Gallery in UCLA, for Design Media Arts Undergraduate Show.
For UCLA Hillel Center Student Gallery 2018, I printed the images onto Chinese calligraphic paper and installed them in the shape of a circle, to reinforce the point that all five elements work together. The audiences become part of the cycle by walking around my images in a circular manner.
