Bergisl-Schanze / Bergisl Ski Jump
Architect: Zaha Hadid
The Bergisl Ski Jump, buildt 2001-2002, is one of the lesser-known architectural works of Zaha Hadid. The jump tower combines functionality, mathematical precision and beauty for this high-performance sport. The Ski Jump is innsbruck's landmark, which can be seen from afar on the Bergisl and it is the modern highlight within the olympic area from the 60ties and 70ties. Ski jumping takes place at the Bergisel Ski Jump in January as part of the Four Hills Tournament. In summer, it is a training facility for Austrian and foreign ski jumping teams.
