Manual drip coffee is a brewing method that allows a greater control over the preparation. During brewing, water is passed through the ground coffee and a filter, and is then collected in a cup or beaker.
Even though that automatic coffee maker offers convenience, the manual brewing gains more and more adepts, as coffee tastes better prepared this way. Other coffee brewing methods include: AeroPress, Moka Pot and French press. Compared to espresso, pour over is a lighter cup, with less body. Using a permanent filter, would give it more body, but it would never be as rich as an espresso.
We created this information graphic for Coffee Brewing Methods' tutorial on how to make pour over.
