It really struck me how Mirai so confidently and unabashedly owned her success as a world class athlete and get recognized for it too! Watching an Asian American woman make history and carry herself in this way – with such strength, confidence and pride – was so inspiring to me. I love this shot of her that embodies all those emotions so had to draw it.
