Whenever I visit Madrid I try to make a point to drop by Chamartin. Conceived as an extremely ambitious development around a train station, then cut back everywhere it's a charming combination of endless hallways that lead nowhere, empty tracks, unbuilt ground, and twisty corners. All of it bathed in the Spanish sun.

It's such an otherworldly place. Not technically abandoned but just…deserted. The main floor is swarming with activity of course it's just the rest of it doesn't really see much use nowadays and it always looks frozen in time.

I love places like this. For a brief moment it feels like everything belongs to you and you could go anywhere you want because who could possibly want any of this or would bother to stop you.
