A Selection of Creatures...
They started by using crochet/yarns and I've recently discovered Latex, Wire armatures and molds so they should start becoming more and more complex (and weird!)
Grobb - A Ravelry.com poject.
one member sends half a critter and then the next member finishes it.
I was sent the torso and I then added the Head, Legs, face - using latex, wire, crochet, latch-hook and molds to shape the latex.
The armchair is borrowed from Clara (see other project to find out who she is)
Another Ravelry.com project.
We drew a creature and then another member makes the actual creature which is then sent to the person who drew the original drawing.
made using crochet, toy safety eyes and embroidery.
Norbert - one of my first tries at shaping crochet. simple shapes and beads for eyes - and he has a wonky bottom.
I later added wire to the body and did a short animated sequence which can be found at www.squidgeye.co.uk alongside a few other creatures (it was my first go using flash website building)
Voodoo Doll (a friendly one)
This voodoo doll chases away anything bad that can happen to a garden - the person I sent it to loves their Gardening!
Used Crochet, sticks/twigs, shrink plastic for bugs and eyes and some sewing.
This was the first time I added wire to an object - I then realised I could animate using stop motion. You can view this on www.squidgeye.co.uk (my first flash animated website) it's not great as it wasn't made with animating in mind and it was too heavy and tall to stand up.

The felt 'skin has splits all along the arms, legs and body which old small laminated scrolls of reflections and thoughts - basically things that get under the skin - made using wire, wadding, felt, polystyrene ball (head) and shrink plastic for eyes.
