Community Service Programs with the Knights of Columbus

Andrew "Drew" Horun, a graduate of Phillipsburg High School in New Jersey, is an accomplished athlete, with experience as a wrestling coach and wrestling team member. In his leisure time, Andrew Horun is active in his local community, contributing his time to many charitable organizations, including helping with fundraisers for the Knights of Columbus, dedicated to giving back to those in need.

Led by the ideals of charity, fraternity, and unity, the Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882, and currently has nearly 2 million members in 17 countries around the world. Charitable giving is its largest effort, supporting youth, veterans, and communities through continuing volunteer programs.

Beginning in 2009, the Coats for Kids program has called upon Knights of Columbus councils around America to supply winter coats for children in need. Since its start, almost 400,000 coats have been gifted to low-income families.

In addition to providing vital winter apparel, the Knights’ Food for Families program seeks to end hunger around America, donating almost 15 million pounds since 2012 to food pantries and soup kitchens. Over $8.5 million worth of healthy foodstuffs has been donated or purchased by Knights of Columbus members, helping thousands of families without a warm meal.
