Ang Panday's MANANAGGAL

The "Manananggal" is one of the most popular folklore in Philippine culture. I wanted a different take on the creature by making the look not so gory.

At first, I wanted the creature to be blind(no eyes), relying only on sound and smell. With spiked up hair and a leathery grotesque torso. Production though, wanted a more traditional look in terms of hair style.

While the manananggal is away from its lower body, it will use its wings to mimic what would look like a long skirt. It wouldn't seem much from afar, but upclose, we would see that it walks using the claws of its wings.
