Manhattan School of Music Calendar Concepts
These two faux calendars were made for my Beginning Typography class at San Jose State University. The required copy was provided to all students, and we had to use the copy in two separate months that were clearly a part of the same calendar, but still were flexible enough to adapt to the different requirements of each month. Students were also limited to four colors and the Helvetica Neue typefamily. Only typographic elements could be used.
I chose to emphasize the dates of the events, and created a design that adjusted vertically depending on the number of events present in each month. I cropped the numbers and titles to create just enough visual interest without causing legibility issues.
