Four University of Wisconsin Freshman Taken in 2017 NHL

Dr. Steven Armus is a Wisconsin-based dermatologist who presided over Great Lakes Dermatology from 2000 to 2012 and now owns Dermatology Consultants of Wisconsin. The recipient of a doctor of medicine from the University of Wisconsin, Dr. Steven Armus continues to support the school's athletic teams. 

If the 2017 National Hockey League (NHL) Draft was any indication, the University of Wisconsin's hockey team recruited a talented 2017-2018 freshman class. The following four recruits were all drafted by NHL teams.

1. Tyler Inamoto - A fifth-round pick of the Florida Panthers, Inamoto is a Lake Barrington, Illinois, native who represented the United States at the Under-18 World Junior Championship. The defenseman has two assists through five games this season.

2. Linus Weissbach - A Swedish forward, Weissbach was selected in the seventh round by the Buffalo Sabres. He spent the 2016-2017 season with the Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League (USHL) and led the team in scoring with 47 points in 49 games.

3. Wyatt Kalynuk - Drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the seventh round, Kalynuk is a defenseman who recorded 31 points in 60 games last season with Bloomington of the USHL.

4. Josh Ess - An 18-year-old defenseman, Ess was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round. He split last season between the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL and Lakeville South High School.
