Espressobar Maling
Identity design
When Coffee United Zwolle changed its name to Espressobar Maling, they approached us to design their new brand identity. We ourselves had been regulars at the coffee bar for years. A warm and welcoming environment, but also a place for creativity and bold ideas. The objective was to capture this feeling in this new identity.
The logo had been designed by a mutual friend of ours – Martin-Jan de Groot – and it became the main element for the identity. We enlarged it to a size where it could serve as a distinctive abstract element throughout all brand materials. We also created a series of icons with the same aesthetic qualities as the logo. All of it combined with a warm yet colorful color palate formed a recognizable identity.
