Soulfoods Vintage, a vintage clothing line based in Australia, asked for a logo redesign. The brief was very open, but they were looking for something simple and fresh, and they wanted something either with music iconography or inspired by retro typography.
Below is the final outcome I created:
As the logo would mainly be displayed as their profile picture on Instagram, I knew I wanted to create a circular logo. I then began researching into retro fonts and music iconography:
Next I started developing hand drawn typography and experimenting with different media. I knew the logo had to have a unique and personal feel as the brands aim is to make people proud of their identity and style.
And I then put some of the designs into Illustrator and from that I created the final logo.
I also created a GIF from the design which could be used as content for their Instagram page.
