The Museum Electric

Commissioned by the IBEW Local 617 we were hired to curate, research, design and create the exhibits and interactive displays for the Museum Electric in the large lobby of their San Mateo, CA location.

A series of murals were created for the large partitions in the spacious lobby and the walls. The exhibits in the museum explore the history of the union and technology of electricity from the scientists that discovered and created it, how it was harnessed and transmitted to how electricity has changed the world and effects almost every aspect of our lives.

The brotherhood donated historical artifacts and we located several dramatic displays including a huge marble breaker wall from the Emporium in San Francisco built in the 1920's and a working Tesla Coil. Additionally, a traveling portable exhibit was created on panels to be displayed at schools and meetings by the union.

The museum is open to the public.
