Take Home Assistant
2015

This was a client project for Noora Heath, which is an organisation that aims at bringing positive changes in the health sector. Using creative tools, they help patients and their families become capable of handling disease and disability to the best of their capability. They train them with hands-on skills that enhance recovery and prevent further deterioration after discharge of the patient, like in cases of post-surgery complications.

As a team, we built visual aids to be carried home by the families of cardiac patients who have received surgery, or have gone though a cardiac arrest. These would act as reminders for the precautions that are needed, and the way in which the patient should be taken care of. This is after these aids have been introduced and explained to the families, in the duration of the patient's admission in the hospital, or during a visit.

We created a tool bag that can be conveniently carried home, and hung on a wall. Since most patients in the government hospitals where Noora Health operates are illiterate, we ensured to make the aids visual, with numbers, and minimal text. The tool kit was taken by Noora Health for field tests in Bangalore.

Design of the bag:
1. Pockets for medicines and visual aids
2. Space to keep a thermometer
3. Logo of Noora Health (printed on the front)

Items inside the bag:
1. Flash Cards (Set of 8)
2. Colour Coded Stickers for Medicines (corresponding to the prescription)
3. Night and Day Clock
4. Icon Stickers (to be stuck on the Clock to remember when to do what activity - to be placed by a doctor/nurse)

My roles:
1. Conceptualising the project
2. Designing visuals for the Flash Cards
2. Designing the bag
