Back in April 2012, when Instagram released its first Android edition, the app was a haven for sharing photos with your loved ones. Today, the application has become a way of expression for millions of people all across the globe. With a feature rich library and availability in 33 languages, Instagram is a neatly designed service and on pace to be Facebook’s next billion-user app.
I have been an avid user of Instagram for the past 5 years and enjoyed the journey thus far. One of the issues that I faced with the application is the limited number of locations that it's current database has. Very often as a user, I was unable to add a location to my post because either it was not able to locate it in the first place, or, because the location was not present in the list available.
To solve this problem, I conceptualized the option of conducting advance search (refer screenshot 2) incase the user is not able to find the location of his/her convenience after the initial search takes place.
In addition to conducting an advance search, the user can also add a location (refer screenshot 6) into the database in case s/he is unable to find the location of their convenience.
