Redesign of Spreadshirt's Designer

Intro
I am an interaction designer working with Spreadshirt who is happy to present to you her most recent project. Together with a small team of developers and a product manager, I co-created a complete redesign of our product creation tool Sketchomat. Central to my idea was ensuring creative flow for users who design their products in a very personal fashion – with love.
Our aim was to optimize the existing tool and improve its user friendliness. We researched, prototyped and reshaped the complete tool from a UX and UI perspective in order to make it accessible and smooth in use for real users.

Former Version
Here you can see the former version of the Designer last year.
Navigation
Okay. Let's start with the navigation. The task was to bundle the previously scattered click elements and adjust them visually. Inside the tool itself and the Spreadshirt world.
Layout
We cleaned up the layout and hide or show elements whenever they were really needed. This improved the focus on the essential, the product. At the same time we reduced the clicks, because less is more.
Designs of Spreadshirt Designers
To help the users to find a perfect and pretty design for his / her product, we highlight more the "designs of the designer" feature and show related designs. That its become quite easy for the user when his/her design is active to find similar designs in style and topic. On the other hand, it gives Spreadshirt designers more visibility.
New Fonts
To make the tool more attractive for typography lovers, we searched for new and free designer fonts. Since now you can find and use fonts like PH  Free Hanken Pacifico and more in our tool.

Bending Text
Together with our talented developers we created an interface for bending text, whats the first time in the Spreadshirt history that this is possible.
Glitter Effect
Next Step was to create more realistic and fancy print types like glitter or flock foil. Because the previous presentation hasn't shown how amazing the foils look in reality. So we did photos of our foils and reworked them with Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom. After that we created an Interface which shows the foils on the product.
See here the foil in action.
Photo Masks
We created an other cool feature for photos masking to cut photos in a specific form. For this feature we created some photo forms and an User Interface. Furthermore we did some print tests to optimize the masks.
Future
This was just the starting point of the project. The next steps are usertest, learn, iterate, design in a endless loop. It was good to bring this (not that easy) project to live. And I am looking forward to see what happens with it.

I'm really proud to showed you the results and say thank you to my team at the same time for this project.
