This is a small selection of photographs that I've grouped together in an attempt to illustrate how I see the world. Obviously, every photograph a photographer makes is a product of how he sees the world, one way or another, but it isn't always obvious. In reality, the vast majority of photographs made fall short. In working to better understand my own images, I have long grouped certain types of images together, images that I feel best reflect how I interpret the world around me, so as to allow myself to better understand the nature of what I'm doing. Inference is key, here. My work is often indirect. I am fascinated by exclusion, visual fractions, symbols, markings, and the spaces in between.
This is only a small fraction, an incomplete cross section. This handful of images is an attempt to hint at something that I have not yet been able to define. I can see it there, crouching in the shadows. Maybe you can, too.
