SpaceX Sees Success with 2017 Rocket Launches

Bruce Furst is the CEO of the Intergalactic Royalty Operations Corporation (iRoc), a company that aims to license and distribute the royalties of artists who perform copyrighted works off of the Earth’s surface. To promote the growth of the company, Bruce Furst and other executives within the company have met with both NASA and Elon Musk, who created the company Space Exploration Technologies Corporation (SpaceX) to facilitate a mission to Mars.

Founded in 2002, SpaceX pursues the ultimate goal of developing the tools and technologies needed to provide humans with the ability to live on other planets. Though the company recently announced that its plans for Red Dragon, its first unmanned flight to Mars, would need an additional two years to develop, SpaceX has had several recent positive developments. On March 15, the firm successfully put a communications satellite into orbit after it launched aboard a Falcon 9 rocket. The launch marks SpaceX’s third successful launch of 2017, with more slated to follow later this year.

In addition to rocket launches and 2020 plans for the Red Dragon program, SpaceX aims to execute a two-person trip around the moon toward the end of 2018, an initiative similar to one announced by NASA this past February.
