Vector tribute to Assassin's Creed

Inspired by Ash Thorp's Assassin's Creed graphics and in particular the way brain image is processed, I've decided to recreate this using Adobe Illustrator.

Illustrator scripting doesn't allowed to pick color from given image and sort objects by this value, so I've used After Effects to create from a raster brain image - set of vector circles with size based on pixel lightness.

Than in Illustrator I made 4 basic shapes for each range of circles sizes. And created javascript that find 4 ranges of circles sizes and after replace each range of circles with a given basic shapes. (Script defines the number of given shapes and based on this number finds corresponding ranges.) And this is result:
The idea was born from a previous script that create numbers (based on object size) from set of objects.  The previous image processed with this script look like:
This script also transfer color from base set of objects to numbers that beeing created. Some close ups:
Thanks for viewing and appreciation!
