I conceptualized this product to pitch to Smart Communications, one of the biggest communication service providers in the Philippines. Large establishments like shopping malls, convention centers and office buildings who already have Smart as their provider can be given this battery-powered Hotspot Marker so that its patrons know that they may use the free WiFi in the area. At the same time, it serves as ambient advertising for the company.

This Hotspot Marker is actually the giant version of their SmartBro Share it Router. The WiFi signal lights up incrementally, visually representing the strong WiFi connection. The back side also has a lighted ad space for the latest promos.

Smart liked this proposal very much and ordered 300 units from 2x2 Design Inc., the Philippine-based manufacturer I designed this item for.
