Jonathan fully illustrated the two-thirds (42 pages - pencils, inks and colors) and Cover of the Luther graphic novel, and colored 100% of the book, with the first part by Sherwin Schwartzrock. Luther is the thrilling life story of Martin Luther, written by Rich Melheim, and published by Faith Inkubators, a Lutheran curriculum publisher  (lutherstudy.com).

Careful attention to detail was considered in this historically accurate graphic novel, from settings to likenesses of all the key individuals involved, utilizing Cranach's famous portraits of Martin Luther, Charles V the Holy Roman Emperor, Staupitz (monk and Luther's mentor), Popes Leo X and Clemente VII, Luther's wife Katharina von Bora, William Tyndale, and many others.
