This brief required us to collect a wide range of analogue visual imagery, which we would then use to create a piece of animation or motion design.  Using the footage I recorded during the project, I created a projection piece designed to be shown as an immersive installation.
This effect was created by taking apart a kaleidoscope and attaching the mirrors over the camera lens, then moving the camera over various objects and fabrics.  This required a smaller lens so a mobile phone was used to shoot this footage.  Pink satin was used to make the effect in this shot, while foil, blue satin, green chiffon, flowers and other objects were used to make other effects.  The movement and speed of the camera was altered to vary the shapes created by the mirrors and to change the pace of the footage.
This effect was created by placing the camera close to a television screen.  The colours blurred and distorted, and black bars appeared in the camera only.
This effect was created by putting a mixture of water, glycerine and glitter in a glass jar. The jar was backlit, which gives it a blue tone and darkens the glitter making it look like black particles.
This shot was taken using the same setup with the camera is positioned closer, using a softer focus to create this effect.
