Personal Identity
For my personal identity research I began with a moodboard giving a little insight into what I feel exemplifies my "vibe"
I have always been in love with deep jewel tones but I wanted to deviate from them in hopes that I could use them as accents rather than as my whole palette.
Green has been my favorite color for a long time and I like how it plays with the light pink in the top left image. I also enjoy the green paired with a dusty black and the gold specks from the stone in the center of the board.
I also love the floral designs in the top right poster (blue and brown) and the stamps below it. I feel inspired to craft my own stamps similar to the ones shown to develop my pattern.
I am a fan of the Dada movement because it tested the boundaries of art. I feel connected to these layouts because they are disorganized in an organized way and I don't know if it's appropriate or not as a professional but in all honesty I feel like an organized mess most of my days.
I understand that readability is important for my personal literature so I'm looking to find a balance between collage, rotated grids, vertically columned grids.

This is a small collection of doodles from different notebooks of mine. Noticing an obvious theme, I wanted to use this to further solidify my personal identity concept of thread and weaving [people, ideas, timeframes, subjects, etc.] together.
I also realize that I have a fascination with body parts as well. I have also found a theme in my sketchbooks of drawing hands, eyes, teeth, mouths, and toes.
Furthering my logo exploration
Using Adobe Illustrator, I started refining my logo and giving myself variations to choose from. I chose a hand and a needle and I think by explaining my theory, it defines who I am as a designer and creative.
Thread can be woven together but it is the needle that is used to bring different threads and fabrics together. I took a photo of my hand and traced it in Illustrator to hold the needle.
Again, thread and fabrics can be brought together only by the tool (the needle), but it is the hand that ultimately puts the tool to work
I think this is appropriate for me because I love connection and bringing people and ideas together. I think by working with a variety of "fabrics", something beautiful, interesting, and thought provoking can be produced in terms of advertising and graphic design.
