For more than a decade, Shobhan Mittal has served as joint managing director and chief executive officer of Greenply Industries Limited. As head of the company, Shobhan Mittal is especially interested in how the organization gives back to the community. In recent years, the company has undertaken a number of charitable projects, such as providing funding for daily nutritious meals for children living in Tiljala, Topsia, and other nearby parts of Kolkata through EKTARA, a trust that offers opportunities for education and skill development. 

Greenply has also supported a health care project undertaken by Mobile Medical Van, which brings quality services to rural areas like Tizit, Nagaland, and Dist-Mon. The project includes diagnostic services, counseling, and medical treatment. Also, through Udayan Care, Greenply is providing money to cover tuition for young girls from economically disadvantaged areas. Udayan’s Shalini Fellowship Programme gives young girls scholarships, mentoring, and leadership development opportunities. 

Understanding the need for skills development in the community, Greenply has also worked with a project that provides vocational training to carpenters to give individuals in need a solid grasp of modern technique. The project aims to promote sustainable practices while also giving carpenters the knowledge they need to stay competitive.
