Alaska Children's Trust - Community Investment Grants

Healthcare industry professional Charles Clement serves as president and CEO of the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC). Alongside his work in public health, Charles Clement supports multiple local organizations, including the Alaska Children's Trust, that share his vision for a healthier Alaska.

In Alaska, child abuse and neglect have been major public health concerns for some time. Alaska Children's Trust was created in 1988 to address these issues and work toward an Alaska where all children grow up safe and healthy.

Alaska Children's Trust awards community investment grants to stakeholders in communities with an especially pressing need for intervention. The organization allocates $150,000 to $300,000 to special projects in at-risk communities each year, which range from parenting classes to hotlines for parents.

More than a dozen programs are in full swing for the 2016-2017 season. This includes support of preexisting organizations that protect Alaska's children, such as Bikers Against Child Abuse, Camp Fire Alaska, Sprout Family Services, and many other fine groups.
