Tris, The Docking Station
As many people I was looking for music docking tower which would be not only functional, but also fits in my apartment.
When I was in the store and made my research I found out, that you can choose just circle or square shape docking towers. I was unsatisfied, I was looking for something else. So I decided to create something new, something special.
The interesting thing was certainly remote control. For my docking station I don`t want to just some classic remote. I want something more special and smart as whole docking station. I wanted this remote to be part of docking station. So the pen remote control appeared. When it`s not in used it can be easily placed in the docking tower slot and than it automatically hide itself into the body of docking tower
I decided that everything must be hidden to keep profile clean and straight, so one of really challenging thing for me was remote slot and phone charging especially because triangle shape sizes down the panel area. After many modifications and changes I made just a shelf or bar if you want, holding the cellphone. This shelf is pulling in or out automatically by pressing switch button. On the docking tower there is no connector for mobile or ipod except all requires slots like SD card, USB an audio output. Everything is wireless as charging or data transfers via bluetooth or wifi. Except hidden shelf you can find out than on the top of the docking tower there is control panel with round composition of buttons and the display in the center which shows all needed information as time, songs, source.
For myself it was challenging task and big movement of my professional skills, because electronic devices design combined more aspects than just design. You have to focused on technology too. You have to thing about the function which makes users or customers happy, for which functions they were looking for? But also I had to think how all this functions and technology put into this tower while the design is retained. I believed that I choose wisely and TRIS, docking station proves it. TRIS, docking station is a great solution for modern apartments, houses, workspace or music centers.
