Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva brings over two decades of medical experience to his teaching position at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he serves as a professor of pediatrics. In addition, Dr. Ramesh Sachdeva also maintains an affiliation at the Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin as the associate medical director of its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).

Designed to provide comprehensive care for critically ill children within Wisconsin communities, PICU offers treatment for a variety of medical concerns and uses state-of-the-art equipment to identify and treat the cause of ailments. Services it delivers range from invasive and noninvasive respiratory support for children with breathing problems to temporary bypass procedures of the lungs and hearts of newborns. Furthermore, the clinic is outfitted with a series of ventricular devices used to help children with heart failure make it to transplant.

PICU operates with a focus on community and ensuring the comfort of child patients and their parents. It enables families to create a list of non-relatives who may visit in their absence and offers access to family lounges with easy access to patient rooms. Lounges feature a multitude of amenities, including a seating area, computer and printer, a television, and a kitchenette complete with microwave, coffeemaker, refrigerator, and other simple kitchen equipment. Families with children undergoing a lengthy stay may also take advantage of the lounge’s laundry room and the sleeper sofa located in every patient room. Hospital staff will provide linens and pillows to accommodate a single overnight adult guest.
