Love’s Travel Stops Expands in 2016

An Oklahoma City-based attorney and the founder of Mekusukey Oil Company, Duke Ligon has spent over 40 years in the oil and gas industry. Duke Ligon also spent three years as a legal advisor to Oklahoma City’s Love’s Travel Stops and Country Stores.

Since it was founded with a single location by Tom and Judy Love in 1964, Love’s has grown to include 380 locations across 40 US states. Catering to travelers, the stores sell gasoline, tire care, and food. Love’s recently expanded into hotel ownership with four hotel locations.

In 2015, Love’s opened 27 new locations, which created over 2,000 parking spaces for trucks. This year, the company is opening 40 new locations with 3,200 new truck parking spots.

Spread across 28 states, these new locations will expand Love’s quick-service restaurant partnerships with Dunkin’ Donuts, Taco John’s, and IHOP Express. The hotel aspect of the business will also expand with 10 new hotels adjacent to the new travel stop locations.
