I've always been a fan of 2000AD's Judge Dredd!
and the 2012 film Directed by Pete Travis, starring Karl Urban is the best thus far!
So, finally found some time to do a quick vector tribute in adobe illustrator.
Cheers & enjoy~

above: sometimes I'll sketch out a ballpoint doodle. I don't always stick to the original sketch.
Only because its only a concept and I enjoy thinking and creating while exploring the potential
towards the final vector illustration while playing in adobe illustrator.

Above: so when I decide to get started in adobe illustrator, I collect as many visual refereneces.
and often at times pay no attention to the previous sketch. I mean, I try to draw from the memory of the sketch, rather than scan it and try to redraw my lines. For me its more enjoyable to create from scratch and change up the concept becuase
its always evolving and I'm not afraid of changing things up.

above: SO yeah- I'll go as far as sketching out the initial idea ( in adobe illustrator) and then suddenly have a better idea for leveraging an iconic phrase or quote that's associated with the character and then boom! - Its time to change it up
and keep having fun.
