In the mind of the celebrity

I have started a series of works that touch on the ideals of identity crisis and the constant judgement of oneself. Everyone at some point of their lives are curious of the famous-comparing external beauty to your own. When it comes down the famous we may find ourselves feeling that we would like to experience that lifestyle-to be in amazing movies, to sing and to just be known in a way that everyday people are not. This work is a self portrait drawn in graphite overworked with a photograph of Kristen Stewart using Photoshop. I chose her as a subject to experiment with, for I do find her quite interesting and how much she is portrayed and judged by the "audience." Some people love her and some hate her, but again it comes back to being a part of the life of the famous. In contrast we are both artists from film to paper, and growing up through my teen years I always admired her and was quite interested and curious about what her life actually is like being famous, so I combined the two together. I do find the concept and idea could go a long way, and interested to know where it will take me.
