This is my second year designing and illustrating the posters and season logo for Theater J's working season. Theater J is one of the most distinctive, progressive and respected Jewish theaters on the national and international theatre scene. 

 

The goal this year was to combine illustration with photography and hand-lettering. Part of the challenge was the fact that three of the seven plays take place between the years 1937-38. I decided not to treat the titles according to the time period that the plays take place, but instead to treat it in a bold and engaging manner. We used a limited color palette to help bring some unity between the seven diverse posters.
