Mobius | Parametric Table-leg prototype

Brief: Design a set of table legs using algorithmic design methods.
Year: 2015

The inspiration for Möbius table leg came from early 20th century furniture pieces by Marcel Breuer in which a single element shapes the overall design. Möbius was an attempt to implement simple forms using a contemporary method of parametric design that minimizes random forms generated by computer. The first Grasshopper definition was a single surface folded through a set height with dynamic parameters. The form evolved to pair with another for increased structural strength.  The CNC-milled hardwood prototype is crafted from 6 different components.
