An energy professional who formerly led Royal Dutch Shell as executive vice president of global exploration, David Lawrence also played a crucial role in the success of Shell Upstream Americas. Now the chairman and CEO of Lawrence Energy Group LLC, David Lawrence recently gave the keynote address at the Oil & Gas in the 21st Century conference.
Hosted by the University of Tulsa College of Law, Oil & Gas in the 21st Century commenced on April 7, 2016, at Gilcrease Museum. The two-day interdisciplinary conference shed light on fading oil and gas resources and analyzed the potential for production to peak during the century.
The forum included industry experts, such as Vinson & Elkins LLP partner Barry Smitherman and Association of Oil Pipelines president and CEO Andrew Black, who shared insights on transitioning to emerging renewable energy sources and pipeline transportation supports, respectively. In addition, Albert Yost of the Department of Energy led technology discussions, and Dr. John Felmy, who previously held the role of chief economist at the American Petroleum Institute, spoke on supplies and reserves.
