Inspired by Ancient Egyptian sculpture, this piece was originally sculpted in clay. The clay was covered in plaster to make a "waste" mold. After the clay was scooped out, a plaster copy was cast and the mold destroyed. Because of the technicalities of this method, the ears were thickened considerably to withstand the pressure and weight.
