This was inspired by a girl I saw on a recent trip to Kurashiki, Okayama. There is a lovely little bridge that crosses the water, and this girl looked very elegant in her yukata with her parasol as people were taking photos.

This picture doesn't do her justice really. It was a bit of an experiment actually, so it is far from perfect. But I liked the idea that while she was on this bridge, looking beautiful, all the focus was on her and the background seemed to fade away. This is what I tried to capture with the simple line drawing for the building and the bricks dropping away from the bridge.

Painted in watercolours.
