Lover close their eyes when kiss because, if they don’t , there would be too many visual distractions to notice and analyze - the sudden close-up of the loved one’s eyelashes and hair, the wallpaper, the clock face, the dust motes suspended in a shaft of sunlight. Lovers want to do serious touching, and not be disturbed. so they close their eyes as if asking two cherished relatives to leave the room.   -   Diana Ackerman

Sex can sometimes be unromantic and fundamental. What about kissing? We kiss our pillow as though it was our lover, we kiss our parents and friends to show our feelings, and most of us close our eyes while kissing, If we didn’t there would be too many things for us to see instead of focusing on the kiss. Kissing in a club, in a bar, in her room, while playing our favorite music, smelling her perfume, kissing can happen in any kind of situation. When we are drunk and kissing a stranger, is it the same as when we kiss a loved one? What is the difference?
What do we see before we close our eyes? Before our lips touch? My concept is the same as in my previous oil painting series, making invisible things such as “love” and “feelings” visible to the eye through paintings. This time after reading a book called “A natural history of the senses”, I came up with this idea about kissing called the “kiss series” project.
