People Illustrations

Hello, it's me.

This is my collection of people illustrations I've done. Mostly done out of fun and boredom. Some of these are even on sale on my Redbubble profile. So that's kinda neat. Some of the illustrations here are done with a mouse during my pre-Wacom days but then I finally got a Wacom and it's been my best friend since!

So this was how it all began.

I initially enjoyed sketching my favourite famous people but with reference of course. And no matter how many times I've sketched, I still cannot do faces because I like to screw it up everytime. Then I learnt how to use Adobe Illustrator and figured I might as well start using it to draw.

What you see below are all drawn with reference by tracing them out first. I used the paintbrush tool to outline on a single layer before starting a new layer to fill in the colours. I would eyedrop the color from the original photo and use the paintbrush again to fill it in. It's a tedious process, especially with just a mouse but it's pretty calming for me. In the beginning, I would only fill with a single color but then I realized that applying the different shades of color would help my illustrations stand out more.
