Jane Booke’s love of fantasy and fairy tales began as a small child growning up in the Los Angeles enclave of Bel Air, California. As a young teenager, Jane would accompany her father on summer sojourns to England, and France, where she started a collection of antique chiffon dresses. Jane really began to design and create her own clothing in high school as a statement against the up-tight, preppy outfits that most students wore at Beverly Hills High School.
After a short time at university, Jane started careers in; modeling, acting, and music. As a young woman in New York City, whose modeling career had just begun, her passion for acting soon developed. Combined with her love of music and the theatre, Jane went on to act in such films as; Hair and Hollywood Nights, and performed lead vocals for the band Sleeping Beauties. It was on a whim, much later when she was married, that her career in Fashion started to take shape. While attending a friends wedding in Beverly Hills, the buyer for Les Habitudes commented on the particular gown she was wearing. After learning that Jane had created the garment herself, he placed an order, and her career in Fashion began.
Jane’s clothes are elegant, feminine, and sexy. They evoke the essence of womanhood while retaining the Renaissance-inspired nuances for which she has become known.
Since the mid-90’s, Jane has dressed many notable actresses, musicians, celebrities, and private clients for film, red-carpet events, and their own personal collections.
Amongst the many individuals for whom Jane has designed are; Madonna, Elizabeth Taylor, Melanie Griffith, Patricia Arquette, Rita Wilson, Anne Archer, Sharon Stone, Courtney Love, Minnie Driver, Jennifer Aniston, Cher, Laura Dern, Carrie Fisher, Julie Delpy, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Nicollette Sheridan, Wynona Judd, Angelina Jolie, Kirstie Alley, Priscilla Presley, Eva La Rue, Fran Drescher, Tia Carerre, Helena Bonham Carter, Jennifer Tilly, Kim Catrell, Ellen DeGeneres, René Taylor, Brittany Murphy and Barbara Carrera.
Jane currently resides in Los Angeles with her children Mackenzie and Camille.
