A visual coding platform that reflects your social media images
Concept / UX / Interface Design

The project deals with the constant tension between generic and individuality in the social media era.
Using a graphic special algorithm, that scans and analyzes the user's personal timeline photos and uploads, to an abstract components of color and composition, the user creates a personal and a visual ID, that combines and summarizes his or her personal appearance and identity on Instagram.
The new printed icon is the users personal finger print (cant be 2 icons alike) and uses as a personal logo - generic, flat, pixelated and unique at the same time.

During the exhibition, the users were able to connect through their Instagram account to the website, and create their own icon and print it as a souvenir.

The process of generating a personal icon from our social media pictures uses the basic elements of Instagram to uncover the principals behind it.
Download images and applying an algorithm that reveals the repeated components in our pictures (i.e color palette, shape etc) - functions as a dynamic reflection of our social media identity.
By deconstructing each photo into its basic components, we can examine not only our creative profile but also how this profile is influenced by the feedback we get. This deconstructd profile has a visual form: an icon which is the outcome of both analytic and artistic processes. An icon that reflects both a personal memory and a collective one.
