Aldeias do Xisto (“The Schist Villages” in English) is a regional sustainable development project, led by ADXTUR-Agency for Tourism Development, in partnership with 21 municipalities in the Centre Region of Portugal and about 100 private operators operating in the territory.
DRI redesigned its web presence, which included a community portal, an eCommerce solution and an intranet for partners. The technology used was based on Drupal, Drupal Commerce and Drupal Commons, with extensive adaptation to the customer's needs and business objectives.
I was entrusted with the information architecture, interaction design, and visual design of the whole ADX experience, end-to-end. The coordination between design and development, which included the communication of content models, architecture and visual design (style tiles, style guide), was one of the key contributions of my work. This project led to a complete rethinking of processes and workflows inside DRI, shaping future projects.
