Paiting portrays a cordilleran dancing at the beat of the gong. the dark background portrays the night smoke from the bonfire since Canyao or the cordilleran ritual dance is originally performed at night on a bonfire.
 
in a sense as an artist I would like also to emphasize that without the darkness we can not see the true light.
