OSI Aikido is the aikidoclub of the Oslo Student Sports Club. Aikido is a traditional japanese martial art with focus on using the attackers own momentum against themselves. The intent is not to hurt one another, but to show care and caution while still being effective. Each syllable has each own meaning: ai – harmony, ki – spiritual energy, and do – path.
The typeface in use is Barkentina by Kiril Zlatkov. The fonts variable stroke-weights and alternating tips and serifs felt suitable with the details and danciness of the techiques in the martial art. The red ‘swosh’ was inspired by the round yet sharp movements involved in aikido.
