Series of illustration is based on George R. R. Martin's novella "The Princess and the Queen, the Blacks or the Greens" in the anthology book, Dangerous Women.
The events in the novella starts on the third day of the third month of 129 AC,167 years before the time in A Game of Thrones, about the first major civil war in the history of the Seven Kingdoms, a war of succession between Aegon II and his half-sister Rhaenyra Targaryen over their father's throne known as the Dance of the Dragons resulting in the gradual extinction of known dragons in A Song of Ice and Fire.

Guess the two houses fighting on this battle
I drew the illustrations on a 8"x6" inch sketchbook using 0.3 and 0.4 pens. One of my biggest dilemma in the process was to decide whether I should leave the illustrations as it is or post edit it with the brown texture - to fit the book's theme.
I had a hard time blending the illustrations into the text of the book, so I used the brown textures of the illustrations and applied weathered effects on the pages.

The book was supposed to resemble Archmaester's record of the civil war, I have put certain additions, such as this prologue, that were not in the novella.
I also divided the novella into three parts "chapters"
