Below is a colletion of briefs I completed as part of my diploma in graphic design. Great students days.
DLE Brochure
The brief was to create a DLE brochure inlcuding at least one embellishment (die cut, embossure) and the subject had to be a real art gallery.

The good news was that we did not have to rebrand the gallery for our brief. The bad news was that we had to do everything else, including going from gallery to gallery to ask for permission to use their business for our homework...
Fashion brochure
Anothe brief where we were given complete freedom of style. We just had to make sure the final product included at least one die-cut and a lot of clear-cutting in photoshop. Oh, and we were encouraged to create our own phtoography.

I had the good sense to recruit two teenagers who were even more enthusiastic about the project than I was. The brief was a delight from the photoshoot to the final cutting.
Photorealistic illustration
This brief could also be called 'let's see how good you are at vector illustration'. We worked from a base photo and recreated it in Illustrator. For the final touch, we had to turn it into an actual advertising poster.

The process was fun and strangely relaxing (once I got into that gradient-building zone). It also gave me a good excuse to splurge out on the actual fountain pen shown below, for, er, research purposes.
