Captain David Schnell, Navy officer for more than a decade, enjoys giving back to the community as part of Royal Family KIDS Camps, an organization that gives foster children a variety of recreational opportunities. Captain David Schnell works extensively on behalf of foster children, serving with multiple organizations that meet their unique needs.
In addition to its camps, Royal Family KIDS operates a Clubs and Mentor Program, which continues to help campers after they have completed their five-day camp experience. After two years of operation, a Camp can send volunteers to Club/Mentor training with Royal Family KIDS, where they learn more about the value of mentorship and how to be an effective mentor in the lives of children. Any child who participates in a Royal Family KIDS Camp can be placed under a mentor, who will spend four hours each month with the camper. By giving these foster children a consistent voice in their lives, Royal Family KIDS hopes to help them maintain a sense of continuity and reliability in their lives even as they change schools or foster families.
