This stage defined the flow of the app and and how functions were to be grouped and organized.
Deliverables at this stage included screen flow and navigation model, task and user flows.
We were 3 months away from launch, operating under some constraints
- There was a limited number of changes that could be made to the existing prototype. This required constant prioritizing of changes, balancing Personas and Scenarios with programmers' requirements. We were operating with a 2-person development team that was under severe pressure, and any design work that required serious subclassing of the native UI objects could not be done.
- The design was going to be one of our primary selling points. The usability of our app needed to be better than everything else on the market.
- The way our app was going to be used was unusual - people were going to be using it for 8+ hours a day, a usage pattern where minor visual quirks become major annoyances.
