Rendering of Cover. Everything besides the articles, photo choices and the Lafayette Consolidated Government logo is my work. The Les Nouvelles Committee submits articles which are edited by the Assistant to the City-Parish Chairperson, who then sends them to me with an idea for placement.
Cover detail. A fewmembers of the committee thought that it may be a good idea to include a small table of contents on the front page. I disagreed; my argument was that it's a very small publication (four pages printed on a 70# sheet of 11x17) and readers could be directed by the use of simple commands and proper placement on the cover. For example, "Flip page for more info" (featured on this image) was my suggestion to avoid using a block of space for a table of contents. This gradated block, instead, is multi-use and serves a couple of different functions for the newsletter.
