Pointillisme Collection
Ā
PrĆŖt-Ć -porter collection by Jorge Ayala Paris in collaboration with myself.

Understanding Architecture as a process that organizes information embodiment through rules and the merging with increasingly sophisticated computational strategies, along with a paradigm shift that allows a view of disciplines as differentiated areas of a unified territory in which, computation becomes a pervasive element creating the opportunity to go in the opposite direction.
Practicing in fields other than architecture provides a higher potential to be finalized, by deranging from the usual way of interpreting those outputs their intrinsic patterns may acquire new potential of becoming.
Ā
Architecture is historically connected to other disciplines, digesting their inputs and outputting its own products: architectures as buildings or built environments.
Fashion carries a different set of constraints, different from architecture, there's a lot more freedom in embracing new processes, methods and approaches that allow playing around with sensibilities for harmony, form, dynamics and patterns.
Pointilisme is the painting style born in France as a branch of impressionism developed by Seurat and Signac at the end of the 19th century in which distinct dots of pure color where applied in patterns to form an image. This reference, which brought to the collaboration title, became a lens through which channel and converge the initial explorations.

Code is the language of the rules that glue the parts together harmonically, but then the creations fall into a semantically open territory.
Ā
Complexity emerged from simple premises: starting from the elementary digital graphic element, the point as a set of XYZ coordinates, working on rules of interaction and coordination among elements in space and the use of an increasingly high number of interacting elements brought to the emergence of figures and shapes.
The final effect is a sort of reversal of the semantic relationship within the pointillist paintings: while in there the color dots patterns followed predetermined images, like a blueprint or an underlying canvas, in this collection patterns are the result of a behavioral process unfolding in space and time.
